Hollow jet valve

Valve for dissipating energy.

The hollow jet valve is mounted to the end of a pipe. It allows discharging a flow under pressure by avoiding the cavitation problems thanks to the hollow conical jet which it forms. Closing and regulating are carried out by a mobile cylindrical obturator and a static guide cone. The regulating is carried out by the movement of the obturator which slips on the body of the valve by modifying the open cylindrical section between the obturator and the body.
The dissipation of the kinetic energy is carried out by a metal divergent cone.

Applications:

This valve is used to release important flows under pressure without risk of cavitation. The value of the flow can be calculated according to the position of the obturator.

Type of handling mechanism:

The hollow jet valve can be operated by an electric actuator combined with two screw jacks or by two hydraulic cylinders.
